About Donnie Bedney, III

Donnie has wide-ranging experience with prestigious consulting and healthcare organizations, including Gallup and Press Ganey, as a workforce, human capital, and sales executive. He has been successful leading project teams, increasing customer service efficacy, and streamlining organizational processes. Bedney received a BS in business administration and management from Oakwood University and an MBA in finance and sports management from Seton Hall University.

As an Operating Partner of ScaleCo, Bedney will lead ScaleCo’s thesis in the human capital management industry.

“As we developed our investment thesis in human capital management, I immediately thought of Donnie,” said ScaleCo founder Brendan Anderson. “It is a perfect match for his relationship-building mindset and years of people resource management experience.”

“I’m extremely excited to be joining forces with the ScaleCo team,” said Bedney. “I have known Brendan for the past 15 years and have admired his vision to find motivated, entrepreneurially minded individuals and provide a platform for them to transform companies and get operating experience. His commitment to identifying talented individuals from diverse backgrounds starts with the ScaleCo team and extends into the pool of experienced professionals that ScaleCo partners with.”

Anderson and Bedney met when Bedney was a teenager making a summertime trip to Ohio to visit family. Bedney’s grandfather introduced them. Anderson and Bedney stayed in touch over the years while Anderson co-founded Evolution Capital Partners in 2006, then ScaleCo in 2018. ScaleCo’s investment strategy focuses on transforming small, plateaued, profitable businesses into sustainable growth companies by engaging ambitious — and often, first-time — entrepreneurs who have been trained to run companies effectively.

Making Money On Both Sides feat. Ernest Gains of The Profit Room

We are excited to welcome Ernest Co-Founder of The Profit Room Ernest D. Gains for our first educational session of 2021! Ernest will talk to us about The Profit Room, the country’s first black-owned, black-run trading group, and why he is convinced understanding the stock market is the key to generational wealth for Black families. Ernest will also tackle the GAMESTOP-ROBINHOOD debacle and explain the concept of short-selling (and how why it can be very profitable).

Register in advance for this meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUrdOytqzkoH9x8rC-YDORjRyFJ8kyIKhtf

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

About Ernest and The Profit Room

Ernest's career as skilled labor started right out of high school while he worked in his family business of HVAC (heating and air conditioning). He then landed a job with a well-known company which was considered a “lottery” where many guys never left and worked until retirement because of the abundance of pay. In 2008 during the financial crash, Ernest took it upon himself to take classes on how to read the financial papers and seek mentorship on how to understand the stock market. In the process of mastering the skill of trading, he also built a real estate portfolio. Ernest dedicated his time to perfecting the skills taught and eventually left his “lottery job”. Ernest specializes in trading GAPS daily. He also has a unique ability to find high-probability Swing Trade Set-Ups. He focuses on maximizing the best possible entries and exits in each trade. Besides being a full-time active trader with over 13 years of experience, Ernest is the visionary behind constructing the educational materials for The Profit Room.
